A life-long United Methodist, I was born in Key West and raised in North Dakota/Montana, earned a PhD in systematic and comparative theology from Boston University, and ordained in 2005. I have served colleges and congregations in New England, Mississippi, Tokyo, and Arizona. I am a grateful father of four amazing sons. I started my appointment at Trinity UMC in October of 2025 after serving for two years as Executive Pastor of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church and before that, Minister of Discipleship at Desert Skies UMC in Tucson. For fun, I play drums in a local indie-rock band, recording and performing original music in the Valley. I am inspired by the many ways that Trinity UMC Phoenix embraces people from all walks of life and I am excited to be part of the servant leadership team, helping to support and grow this church. I can't wait to see where God is leading us in ministry and service to the world!
